Gifting Or Donating Therapy Sessions and Fees

Gifting to Someone You Know

Yes, you can give someone therapy as a gift!

Please use the PayPal button below to purchase a gift certificate code that you can give to someone you know. They pay for their sessions by giving their therapist the code to redeem.

Please note: the therapist will ask to make sure your gift recipient has the means, whether through additional gifts or other sources, to complete at least five therapy sessions. The reason for this question is because the second, third, and fourth sessions are often the hardest to go through, and we do not want to leave anyone worse off for having started therapy without enough time to get to the healing portions. Each of us has defense mechanisms and adaptive skills that get us through our day. Starting to question and let go of those without building healthy replacement skills and patterns can leave people worse off than not going to therapy in the first place.

Another gift option is to anonymously donate to clients who are receiving a discounted sliding scale cost based on household size and household income, or who are receiving free/pro bono services. These clients are often retirees with an annually limited count of sessions through Medicare or who are in the income gap between qualifying for Medicaid and being able to afford usable health insurance (i.e. having a $10,000 deductible while earning less than $50,000 a year).

When you donate any amount of money to the Sliding Scale Fund, it is used to provide more appointments for people who qualify for sliding scale fees or is used to cover the cost of free brief intervention therapy for people who otherwise would not be able to participate in therapy at all.
